Q & A

1.     What is the “npTECH”?

The “npTECH” is a revolutionary Electric-Solar Hybrid Transport built with state-of-the-art technology, which surpasses all standards in the automobile industry today. It is Tomorrow’s Car.

2.     Does it run strictly on batteries?

YES. It uses 36 each Lithium Hydride batteries with a total voltage output of 144.0 VDC.

3.     Does the Solar panel charge up the car as you drive?

NO. The Solar Module and Panel option includes an Electronic Module plus a specially designed Solar Panel Collector, which is built-on to the top of the vehicle. There is a selector switch to activate either the onboard AC charger or the Solar Module located on the dashboard.

4.     How many passengers can fit?

The vehicle is offered as a 2-door coupe or 4-door sedan and can transport up to five (5) passengers.

5.     Does it have airbags?

YES. The “npTECH” is equipped with state-of-the-art front airbags and 3rd generation seatbelts and restraint system.

6.     What is the maximum speed of the vehicle?

The “npTECH” has a range selector for speeds of 0-35 mph and 0-75 mph. This means that if you are just cruising around the neighborhood, you set the range switch to SHORT RANGE, which will allow you to drive the transport at a maximum speed of 35 mph. If you’re heading out to Waianae and need to drive via the H1 Freeway, you set the range switch to LONG RANGE which will allow you to drive the transport at a maximum speed of up to 75 mph.

7.     How far can you drive before you need a charge?

The range selector determines that. If you’re just cruising around town at speeds below 35 mph, the vehicle can go a maximum of over 200 miles before a charge is necessary. If you’re set at the LONG RANGE position with speeds of up to 75 mph, the vehicle can go a maximum of around 140 miles before a charge is necessary. Other factors also play a part in this such as: Weight, Night Driving, Air Conditioning, etc….

8.     How long does it take to charge the batteries?

The normal charge time for the “npTECH” is around 4-hours at 110 VAC. Since the vehicle is equipped with dual onboard charger, you can speed up the charge cycle by plugging into a 220 VAC outlet.  NEVs in the market today do not offer dual onboard chargers. You have a choice of one voltage or the other and because they use standard marine type batteries, they usually take between 8-12 hours to charge up.

9.     What type of brake system does it use?

The brake system used in our “npTECH” is a regenerative braking system with front disc brakes.

10. How does it differ from other electric cars??

NEVs such as the GEM, LIDO, Dynasty and others are classified as Low Speed Vehicles (LSV) or Slow Moving Vehicles (SMV). These vehicles can be street legal but they cannot go more than 25 mph because they have no doors and no airbags. The “npTECH” comes with solid metal doors equipped with steel beams and state-of-the-art airbag system and are classified as regular automobiles. The maximum speed of the “npTECH” is 75 mph.

11. How does it differ from other hybrids?

The Toyota and Honda hybrids are Electric-Gas systems. As efficient as they are, they still utilize an engine powered by gasoline. The “npTECH” on the other hand uses strictly batteries with an optional solar module and panel. This makes our vehicle completely independent of fossil fuel and Power plant generated electricity.

12. Is there any federal or state tax benefits for purchasing one?

YES. There is a 7.5% income tax credit from the federal government and up to $4000.00 maximum per car. There is also a 35% income tax credit from the federal government on the purchase of the solar module & panel option.

13. What colors do they come in?

There are three (3) basic colors for the “npTECH”. These colors are patriotic: Red, White and Blue.

14. When will the vehicle be ready for consumers?

We are anticipating a market delivery of One (1) year.

15. Where and who will market the new cars??

Officially, that has not been determined. We expect that all the dealerships in Hawaii and Mainland America will be requesting to partner up to offer our new transport. As it stands right now, Go Smart Technologies, Inc. will manufacture and market the Transports.

16. What is the estimated cost for a Base Model Transport?

The MSRP will range from $14,925.00 to 21,910.00.
